Symptoms

Obstructed nasal breathing

Reduced sense of smell or loss of smell

Runny nose

Feeling of pressure in the face

Treatment options

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) with polyp formation: symptoms lasting longer than 3 months. Initial drug and non-drug treatment. Cortisone-containing nasal sprays and nasal rinses. Antibiotic treatment if required. Cortisone tablets only in individual cases.

If symptoms persist: consider surgery.

Surgery: minimally invasive procedures through the nostril using an endoscope or microscope. Anatomical boundaries are taken into account. Intraoperative navigation system (Brainlab®) for increased safety. Day-case surgery under general anaesthesia. Nasal packing is avoided where possible.

➔ Immunotherapy for CRS with polyps

After the procedure

Regular nasal suction and follow-up checks. Use of substances to care for the mucous membranes. Later treatment with cortisone-containing nasal sprays and inhalations.
