Four weeks after his cochlear implant surgery, an 85-year-old patient’s speech processor was activated for the first time. After years of progressive hearing loss, he was able to understand voices and everyday sounds again.
The journey includes hearing diagnostics, thorough counselling, surgery and subsequent hearing training. Regained hearing means greater independence and participation for those affected.
