Sudhoff President of the Politzer Society

Prof. Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. Holger Sudhoff was elected president of the international Politzer Society. The election took place during the society’s annual meeting in São Paulo; the announcement by the University Hospital Bielefeld is dated 28 November 2022. Prof. Sudhoff is the first medical doctor from Germany to chair the society.

The Politzer Society bears the name of Adam Politzer (1835–1920), one of the founders of modern otolaryngology, who in 1865 established the first department of otology at the Vienna hospital. On the society’s website Prof. Sudhoff is listed as the incumbent president; upcoming dates include the 35th Politzer Society Meeting, held in Seoul from 4 to 7 November 2026. In 2003 Prof. Sudhoff himself received the Politzer Prize.
